Frequently Asked Questions

What should I wear?

Footwear: Barefoot, dance, gym or ballet slippers in class.

Clothing: Workout clothes (such as yoga wear or anything with lycra or spandex). Wear comfortable, close fitting workout wear. Shorts are also suitable.

What NOT to wear?
  • No outside shoes are permitted on the dance studio floor.
  • No oils, lotions or creams on your hands or legs.
  • Do not wear any rings on your fingers.
  • Socks are not recommended as they can be slippery.

What is the experience level of most students?

Most students are beginners, but there is usually a variety. Some are repeat students; some have dance and fitness experience and some do not. Age varies between 18 - 65 years.

Are the classes difficult?

Each person is unique and everyone has a different learning style. You will be taught the moves step-by-step and they will be demonstrated in a very descriptive manner. All students are encouraged to start at a beginner's level. Advancement in classes is up to each individual. As you progress, you choose whether you move up levels, or repeat it as many times as necessary until you feel comfortable. There is no pressure.

Each person may also have a different goal on what they want to get out of the program. Some may just want to learn basic, sexy moves that they can show off to their partners. Some may want to push themselves to go beyond their comfort level, and some may want to get a sensual/sexy workout because they are bored with current workout routines. Everyone wants to learn something new and by doing the program, something amazing happens. Watch your self-confidence grow while you learn some new skills, meet new people and have a whole lot of fun!

What will I learn in the class?

It depends upon the class that you take, but basically you will either be taught sexy routines, floor work, wall work and pole moves that combine strength conditioning, core conditioning and sexy dance moves. The classes are organized into a structured workout that combines a warm-up, muscle conditioning exercises, strength training, resistance training, cool down and stretching.

Elements of yoga, dance, stretching and pilates may be incorporated throughout the classes, but modified to suit the art of pole dancing and sensual movement. No previous experience is necessary.
